DateMyCircle is a unique matchmaking website where anyone, whether single, taken, or married, can participate in assisting their close circle of single friends in online dating. When and Where:
DateMyCircle was launched in September 2011 in San Francisco, California. Why We Exist:
DateMyCircle was created because there remains a need for improved authenticity in online dating, and because there is an untapped audience of people that are in relationships who would like to assist their Single friends with finding someone special. How We're Different:
First, we change the focus of online dating from looks-based to character-based. By asking close friends or family to answer fun and engaging questions of social circles, a person's true character is revealed, eliminating issues of authenticity, trust, and integrity that occur on other dating websites. DateMyCircle also differs from other dating sites by having initial contact between members consist of answering questions chosen or created by members, rather than open messaging. This helps to keep things light, fun, and honest. Secondly, in addition to Single members searching on their own, members can create a circle of close friends and/or family to assist them by searching on their behalf, transforming online dating into an activity driven and supported by close social circles. By creating a network of very close friends who know the member's likes, dislikes, personality, traits, etc, DMC allows our members to separate their dating life from the general cacophony of other social networks. Finally, DMC facilitates the jump from the online dating environment to the "real world" by providing Gift Cards for offline dates, which can be purchased for Single members.
